Burdastyle 09/2013, mod. 120 - Blusa com motivos em croché || Shirt with croche appliques

Ora bem, o ano passado, em outubro (!!) decidi fazer uma camisa com aplicações em croché. Claro que tinha de complicar, pelo que só agora a acabei.

So last year, in october (!!!) I decided to sew a shirt with crochet appliqués. I started altering the pattern, so I only finished it today.

O meu ponto de partida foi este molde da Burdastyle 10/2016, mod.120b - uma camisa de estilo oversized, com bainhas curvas e assimétricas. 

I started with a Burdastyle magazine pattern - october 2016 issue, pattern #120b - it's an oversized shirt, with curve and assymetrical hems.

                                                      

O modelo original tem uma carcela tradicional com botões, mas ignorei essa parte e cortei a frente na dobra. De seguida, utilizei este tutorial, de forma a criar uma carcela como as que se vêem em polos e poder tirar a camisa pela cabeça.

It's a button up shirt but I ignored that part and used this tutorial to get a popover shirt instead, cutting the front on the fold.

Utilizei este tecido de algodão imitação ganga (já esgotado), que tinha comprado no verão passado.

My fabric is a cotton woven that mimics denim (I bought online last summer, it's now sold out).

Continuando com as alterações, ignorei o colarinho original e optei por uma gola mandarim.

Keeping up with my changes to the pattern, I ignored the traditional collar and sewed a mandarim collar instead.

Com todas estas alterações, já não fazia sentido manter as mangas compridas, pelo que as encurtei e optei por fazer uma virola falsa nas mangas (que não se vê na foto abaixo...). Utilizei este tutorial, disponível no Youtube.

Long sleeves werent't making sense anymore in my interpretation of the pattern, so I've shortened them and sewed a false turn up cuff, using this tutorial from Youtube.

Toda a camisa foi feita com recurso às costuras inglesas e para obter um bom acabamento nas bainhas curvas, segui este tutorial. Funciona na perfeição!

I sewed the shirt using french seams and to achieve a perfect finishing on the hems, I used this tutorial, works like a charm!

Quando já tinha a camisa praticamente pronta, comecei a fazer os motivos em croché, o que demorou mais tempo do que tinha pensado, e a camisa foi ficando no meu manequim à espera de dias melhores.

When the shirt was almost done, I started crocheting the motifs, which took longer than expected. So the shirt stayed on my dressform, waiting and waiting and waiting....

Como tinha pensado inicialmente, as rosetas em croché foram feitas sem qualquer esquema, por isso, são todas diferentes. Tive apenas cuidado para que não ficassem onduladas, de forma a assentarem a direito sobre a camisa. 

Para evitar qualquer problema com a lavagem da camisa, coloquei as rosetas num saco de rede e lavei-as na máquina, como a camisa irá ser lavada. Só depois as distribuí e cosi na camisa à maquina.

As planned, the crochet motifs were made without a pattern, so they are all different from each other. My only concern was to avoid rippling on the motifs, otherwise they wouldn't be set flat on the shirt.

To prevent any possble disasters when laundering the shirt, I put all the motifs in a mesh bag and threw it in the machine, the same way I'm going to wash the shirt. It was only after that that got scattered and machine sewed on the shirt.

Raios, a camisa ficou mesmo como queria! É por este motivo que costuro, para poder ter roupa diferente e única. Saber que consigo transformar 1,5m de tecido e um novelo de linha nisto, deixa-me orgulhosa de mim mesma.

Damn, the shirt turned out just like I wanted. This is why I sew, to get clothing that is different and unique. Also, knowing that I can transform 1,5m of fabric and a ball of thread into this, makes me feel empowdered.
